There’s not enough consensus for a Constitutional amendment pertaining to abortion.

NO amendment is needed, life is explicitly protected by the Fifth Amendment.

The consensus that is needed is a consensus in SCOTUS that recognizes that the explicit right to life protected by the Constitution, trumps the implicit right to privacy also held by the people.

In theory I agree with you. However, I have some concerns if the SCOTUS rules the right to life is explicitly protected by the Constitution. I have visions of the same people who are pro abortion having pregnant women lead out of McDonald’s in handcuffs for eating a Big Mac because they’re endangering a fetus.
