Rhetorical question of the day?
During the 30's 'communism was cool' and FDR had a boat load working for him. 'Heck', his first Veep, Henry Wallace, was a commie. He only dumped him for Truman when Stalin and communism became a tad 'uncool' and the party bosses got nervous. And, FDR's 'top man' Harold Ickes Sr was a commie (the apple didn't fall far from the tree with Jr)
But it continued with Truman too. He was warned by the FBI about the commies and ignored them. Like Alger Hiss who worked for both of them -- and who was instrumental in forming the pinko U.N. (what a shock)
One of the stops on the tour (which was wonderful by the way) was the White House library. Now, according out the person who guided our tour, the library is stock with books picked out by the First Lady, Michelle Obama. Being a bit of a bibliophile, I started to peruse some of the books on the shelves and lookie, lookie what I found :

“...Many Americans today believe that there has been a communist infiltration into the White House...”
Nooooooo! Really? You don’t say!
Joe McCarthy, where are you? Venona vindicated you, brother Joe...and unfortunately, the country wasn’t listening.
To our peril.
Nah. There are no communists in this administration.
It’s just that they want to raise taxes, re-distribute wealth, take over industries, increase the national debt to unsustainable levels, make the population dependent on the government, foster hatred of “greedy” and “exploitive” big business, confiscate the profits of energy companies, villify the enemies of their policies, tax the “rich”, prohibit secret votes for or against union membership,
incite class warfare, crimininalize a prior Republican administration......
but there are no communists in this administration.
