There is a case that can be made for Christians to avoid participation in some stings if not all. In fact, after early Reagan years practices that had the FBI sending porn catalogs to school bus drivers and minor sex abusers then busting those who ordered from the catalogs, government policy was changed because policymakers were seeing the lives and families of these people, who were generally taking reasonable personal precautions, being wrecked.
I think the government shoulddn’t be putting out bait so that otherwise suseptible men should fail who weren’t violating the law previously. I think the courts were making increasingly big stinks about such practises and there-fore they were wisely scaled back. On the otherhand, if one smells legitimate smoke, one needs to investigate where the fire is!
