Saw the answer to my own question! My Dad was the naval technical director on that movie! Cary Grant was so professional. He came to my Dad for inspection every day they were shooting. Wanted his uniform just so and his acting consistent with what a good sub commander would exhibit.

Thanks. I'm one of those who don't think, women's rights apart, that women will mix well with men in the confines of the sub. On the other hand, maybe they'll mix too well? ;-)
