I think that joke is people handicapping a race for the President of the United States based on how well one performs on late night shows as a stand up comic. Likewise, it is unfair to disqualify someone just because they shine in this type of environment. There is nothing wrong with having a good sense of humor and being quick witted. They just are not very high on the list of attributes needed to govern the biggest and most powerful nations in history at a time of crisis.
