I don’t recall the WH, Obama, the Press Sec’y or anybody else in a position of authority having ever said “Yes, this is the official copy we requisitioned from the dept of records in Hawaii.” They have never shown a paper copy in a press conference. It’s always been in passing and in a joking manner as you say. Correct me if I’m wrong here.

Correct. Gibbs did not say it came from. He did say "he" and once "they", meaning the campaign, put it on the internet.

They are sneaky, but I don't think that will help them when it's finally shown to be a fake. He'll be the first one to go to jail.
