I feel like she has already fallen into John McCain's trap

She didn't fall into McCains trap, she walked into a trap of her own making, and she has not one to blame but herself.

She could have avoided all this by simply realizing that if he was good enough to be President, and gave him her endorsement for that position, she might have to endorse him as being good enough to be a Senator.

She should have said NO to being on the ticket with him in 2008.

It's her own doing, not McCains. She could have said no.

Your novice political logic would see RINOs balancing their tickets with ....drumroll....more RINOs. That would be great, let’s just shut all conservatives out of national office for purity tests.
