In the wake of his somewhat surprising and very soft-peddled victory in the CPAC straw poll, Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) is gearing up for a big showing at the next GOP cattle call. Pauls Campaign for Liberty has purchased 800 tickets for the event, held next month in New Orleans, at a total cost of $92,000.
If 800 Paul fans show up, would it be enough to win the events straw poll? Well, in 2006, Sen. Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) won the straw poll with a 36.9 percent plurality of only 1,427 ballots.
An email with some info about the big buy, after the jump:

Well, talking about removing the links to Campaign for Liberty and LPC is a step in that direction, don’t you think? That’s not mocking, that’s just cutting off a source of funds. I really doubt that you folks will stop contributing to FR just because CFL and LPC are on the main page, so why would you want folks in those forums to quit contributing?
Isn't there a Losertarian site you can haunt? Do you have to come here and co-opt our ideology for your own gains? Go away!
Ron Paul Snaps Up 800 Tickets for Southern Republican Leadership Conference ping
I understand the CFL paid $92,000 for the tickets. What a waste. Thanks for the ping.
Nothing good is going to come of that.
Paul is clearly trying to hijack Conservative organizations.
Apparently she was totally mobbed as she tried to exit the stage.
Just like the PaulBots posting on their sites to have posters come over to FR and post.
Ron Paul supporting for Congress, Adam Kokesh, an active anti war, 9/11 Truther and active in other Left Wing activities.
Paul’s frien Medina another 9/11 Truther
Ron Paul has a long history of stacking the deck
with polls, events, and this is no exception.
Today in the mail, I received the latest issue of my hometime newspaper (just to keep track of things back in Virginia).
A local lady had gone to the Daytona 500, unexpectedly run into Sarah in the pits, and had a picture taken with her. The lady had proudly submitted the picture for publication along with a nice letter to the editor noting how gracious and friendly Sarah had been to her. Very classy!
The wannaBies would have to rent a crowd to keep up with Sarah’s energized supporters.
Have both heard and read also at various events, Sarah takes time with the basic Americans.
Sarah connects with them as she is from them.
They’re not going away. They need to be shown the door.
Paultards trying to hijack another conservative event.
Shame on the event for supplying the tickets.
The PaulBots don’t have any scruples.
They just pay to get their way and those who
accept the PaulBot’s money are being prostituted
It’s up to the organizations and event holders to turn them down.
Yep, the SRLC has a major opportunity this year for great exposure with Palin keynoting the event. The major TV networks have inquired about televising her speech. Ron Paul loons hijacking the event will not be helpful for the GOP.
Very regrettable. Paul and his people should not be there.
Great pic. Have you noticed how much time she’s spending in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin? :)
