It can happen anywhere...The Church just kept a cover on it for years.
Schools apparently too with all of the naughty teachers getting busted every week now.
And a “Safe” Schools Czar who supports “seduction” of minors by adults.
The worst part of this with the Catholic Church is that they could form an order to run centers providing care for those abused in their care, which would be an order of magnitude more helpful than monetary payouts.
Yet they wont.
Not in this case.
The victims didn't tell anyone for years.
The Church has established strict institutional controls and more diligent scrutiny of volunteers and is actively preventing adult workers and volunteers from being alone with minors.
I had to submit to a criminal background check just to drive my daughter and some classmates from her Catholic school to some apostolic work with some poor kids.
At least that's what's going on the Archdiocese of Atlanta currently.
