Sad and infuriating but not a huge shock. DeMint and Graham are Washington-based politicians, members of the 'old boys club' called the United States senate. They are also in the same (currently) minority party.

Blunders like this - a conservative Republican (DeMint) apparently defending a RINO (Graham) on an issue where the RINO is dead wrong - is what drives anyone even slightly politically/socially 'conservative' to (figuratively) embrace Sarah Palin and support her for the GOP nomination for president in 2012.

Millions and millions of Americans are sick and tired of the 'old boys club' routine where Washington politicians screw the taxpayers by voting for endless expansions of useless government programs and insult our intelligence by pretending they're 'conservative' when they are really just self-aggrandizing, narcissistic, venal opportunists seeking to gain unearned wealth and prestige by posing as 'statesmen', pandering to conservatives back home by making 'conservative' noises then going to Washington and voting for more liberal programs and slapping RINO senators like Graham on the back.

I'm not 100% sure if Sarah Palin is 'The One' in 2012 but her straightforward approach to politics and her authentic outsider status appeals to millions of Americans who want to throw all of the incumbents in Washington out of there and basically start fresh. There is far, far too much political back-scratching in congress and this latest nonsense of Jim DeMint defending Lindsey Graham on Graham's totally wrong stance on global warming is yet another aggravating reminder that, just as there are really no 'moderate' Democrats there are lots of 'moderate' (RINO) Republicans in congress and, sadly, some alleged 'conservatives' tend to hang around with them and make excuses for their stupid positions, as DeMint has with Graham. They all have to go.

Nice post.

It would be unbelievable to have a real true blue family in the WhiteHouse that seems to be pretty middle America in their beliefs and how they approach things.

They only reason I was persuaded early on Palin is due to the GOP establishment attacking her as vehemently as the frackin Leftists and Dems and media.

There aren’t many true conservatives out there Palin, DeMint and a handful I feel like I can trust most of the time.
