HOLLISTER, Calif. (AP) -- A law enforcement official says the parents of the man who opened fire in front of the Pentagon warned authorities their son was upset and might have a gun.

San Benito County Sheriff Curtis Hill told the AP the parents of John Patrick Bedell filed a missing persons report and were worried about his mental stability.

After reading an e-mail from their son to an acquaintance, the parents told deputies they were worried that he had purchased a gun.

Parents of Pentagon shooter warned authorities

This is an ALL TOO FAMILIAR REFRAIN - "authorities" were warned about the underwear bomber by his father, and they did NOTHING!!! Apparently the same thing here.

...the parents told deputies they were worried that he had purchased a gun.

More proof that he was a leftist kook. If he was a Tea Party member or rightwinger, HE'D HAVE ALREADY OWNED A GUN!!!

A 9/11 Truther, Anti-Bush, Anti-War nut case tied to the Tea Parties? The media may be dumb but I dont think even they could pull that one off.

How is it that a person who had a Missing Persons report filed for them in California can walk-up to a subway station in Washington, DC without being noticed?

Yahoo/AP has just rewritten their headline to remove the 9/11 reference.

He was a Democrat-voting-Bush-hater ... no way he would end up on a DHS Watch List. Now maybe if he had said he believed in the Constitution or something ...

I don’t get what you’re saying. I’m sure there are thousands of missing persons reports filed. How would that stop the missing person from doing anything? It’s a large country, with a large population and a large amount of square miles.

Did you even read the article?

The missing person report was filed on January 4, in California. He was stopped in Texas for speeding, and was said to be headed for the East Coast -- which certainly narrows things down to a few million square miles.

So.... The parents are concerned, the guy has a gun, and there's no info on him for two whole months....

And you want the cops to be mind-readers.

Riiiight.

Worse, he was seen in Texas! Obviously he’s a wingnut because he ever stepped foot in Texas

The authorities only respond if they are notified that your teenage son overslept and missed his high school English exam.

Then social services is at your door demanding that you take parenting classes and hire a minder to make up for your lack of responsibility.

I think these types may be becoming unhinged because they actually believed that Obambi was The One. When he can't even figure out how to do Gitmo better than Bush, that makes them go nuts --- if Obambi can't fix the world better than that dumb cowboy from Texas, it's hopeless, I tell ya! Yeah, right. Carry on.

The media are not accurately reporting this guy as 9/11 Truther, Anti-Bush, Anti-War nut case.

They are simply saying he is angry at the government, which could be understood by people as part of the Tea-party movement.
