That's to be expected. A source familiar with the review told Fox News the president is testing the waters to see how far he can push his base without sending them over the edge, for the sake of an elusive bipartisan bargain that would ultimately allow him to follow through on his pledge a year ago to close the Cuba military prison for good.
But getting to that point is turning out to be a rocky road fraught with political deals and, in the eyes of the liberal base, risky betrayals.

Holder should be fired. It was obvious from his congressional testimony that even if any staff work had been done, which is doubtful, none of the key issues had been thought through. They just made a campaign slogan policy and the policy made no sense.
the first part would be great news - the last part is laughable - there isn't the tiniest of an American Value in their bodies.
This whole administration is the biggest "blow to American values" I've seen in my lifetime - and I'm a great granny.

Why would the GOP negotiate with Obama to close GITMO for a military tribunal of KSM? The military tribunal is not a bargaining chip because Obama has lost this debate. Why would the GOP give up something for nothing? ... .. ... . (I know, they are idiots)
Could be. He lied to independents and Republicans, so why not lie to his base too? I'm not even sure Barry knows he lies. Mainly because of his odd upbringing, I don't think the guy has a core, he's just affected the identity he embraced from his Chicago radical friends.
All in all, however, I favor applying Occam's Razor to what's going on in the White House. The first year's has been a disaster, the administration is in disarray. The knives are out for the knife-fighter himself, Rahmbo, and he's gaming for his political survival.

Everything is political for them. But, I’m speaking to the choir.
Which is why, IMHO, they have to move this trial out of NYC because even in deep blue New York it would be a political disaster which the city government has no intention of paying for. But, anywhere else you might put it is going to attract the NIMBY's too. So, is it back to GITMO?

Watching Obama make policy is like watching an 8 year old learning to drive a car.
He really does manage to alienate everyone. The long delay deciding about Afghanistan angered patriots and conservatives, and then when he finally approved the surge, it was almost too late. What with that and the stupid new ROEs, there have been more deaths of our troops there than in any previous year. OBama’s fault.
Yet at the same time, he has raised the expectations of the anti-war crowd and then finally dashed them, about the worst thing he could do.
The same with gays in the military. He’s doing that because he made all sorts of promises to the gay activists that he couldn’t keep, so he finally decided he had to do SOMETHING. But the gays will be angry because he didn’t do enough. And everyone else will be angry because once again he is using our military as a political toy to be exploited at his whims.
Obama is a Communist, Muslim America-hater, but luckily for us he is a stupid Communist, Muslim America-hater.
The ONLY reason the left wants the civilian trials is because they correctly assume it will be turned into a trial of Bush/Cheney and they've been salivating for that for years.
The problem for Obama is that these murders-of-thousands cannot possibly be convicted in a civilian trial because the President of the US and his Vice President have repeatedly claimed that their confessions were tortured out of them, all the evidence was illegally gathered and they both still guaranteed that they would not only be convicted but executed.
They set up the game and guaranteed an outcome that they themselves made absolutely and unequivocally impossible!
So when KSM and his cohorts are allowed to walk out of a Manhattan courtroom as free men, the rage from the 80% of the country who aren't moonbats will explode.
This idiot Obama dug a grave for himself, stood over it and pulled the trigger. Now he's trying to figure out how to undo it.

It seems to me that there is a coup within a coup and a final winner hasn’t surfaced. Maybe I’m wrong or confused, too.
Bottom line: There is going to be a showdown by summer. Someone is going to come out and expose this takeover by these anti-Americans.
