But what about the kid’s Constitution right to bear hands?
“For every source you cite I can come up with others. That’s how lawyers get rich.”
There’s no contest here. If you are not interested in the truth, that’s up to you. If you were, you wouldn’t be emulating lawyers.

zero tolerance = zero judgement
Thanks for the link. There is absolutely nothing new in any of this, and none that contradicts what I posted, but it leaves out a lot.
Hank
You’re acting ridiculous.
He is a five year-old boy having fun. You seem to think he is destined to be an AK packing child warrior in Somalia. You’re embarrassing yourself (I hope). If not, you should find another site to post your paranoia about finger-guns.
A few questions for you:
Have you ever been to Yakima, WA?
Do you even own a gun?
Did you ever play ‘Cops and Robbers’ or ‘Cowboys and Indians’?
Were you ever a kid?
Give it a break.
>>”Manuel’s mom doesn’t see anything wrong with her son putting his hands like this and shooting down at the ground.”<<
“...shooting down at the ground...”. Hey mom, it’s not a gun, it’s a finger for crying out loud! It sounds like even the mom is buying into this crap.
I was born and raised in Yakima. Although I think this kind of thing is ridiculous, there is a very bad Mexican gang problem there.
In a weird way, I kind of understand why they did this. Kid likely sees the real thing at home or at least in his neighborhood.
>My daughter taught math in a Catholic K-12 school in the Houston area. Every one of the teachers and principal voted for Obama. They are utterly mired in Marxist social justice.
It’s saddening that [a large portion] the church in America is so deceived on “social justice” as to not realize that without [true/real] Justice, it’s just ‘social.’
good for you
however...and this is something some folks don't realize...you can steel your kids to recognize social engineering BS when they see it and educate them about culture and history at home...as one should anyhow...and they become little counterbalances to a teacher who's bent the wrong way.
Unfortunately many parents don't do that....they are asleep to it.
Not me and not my two boys who are in public for grade school..now.
It's not a monolithic issue here in Franklin TN...our principal is very conservative and Christian though she is a bit bound on some issues by law...she is not perfect though...I sparred with her politely over Winter Holiday...and why call him the Christmas Day Bomber?
but it's a board decision not her’s.
most folks here I know who homeschool here do so not so much for fear of political correctness but because they don't want their kids exposed to poor schooling or bad elements.
private schools even religious ones are not failsafe....we were lectured by our teacher at private school because he had a BB gun at 7...I thought why am I paying you guys all this money for this?
it's a cultural problem across the board....believe me ...it is very very disconcerting to be 52 and remember when it was so much better in America and now to raise children at these ages and deal with the indoctrination from everywhere..not just schools...the anti-white, anti-male, anti-western, anti-Christian forces hold the power in every cultural institution we have baring a few exceptions.
they don't own political power but they do own the culture
you hit the nail on the head...i think the issue is how they get to teachers...most of whom are far less bright than you or I...it’s usually women who have been sold a bill of goods about life that they were predisposed to believe anyhow
i think taking men out of the teaching arena for kids has been very bad....
Well, I quit law school 21 years ago to become a public school teacher. There I reside today, with an award for social studies teacher of the Year (for my inner city high school -- not the district) under my belt. I'm at the top of my profession. So that sly little ad hominem attack slides right off.
There is only one absolute truth: Jesus Christ hung on a cross and died for my sins then he got up out of a grave and walked and he said I could, too. Other than that there are many truths.
I'm sure what you posted is true. But so is what I posted. In many places in this country the first public schools were created to fight satanic inspired evil and prepare folks to enter the seminary. So don't take your original example of New York and apply it across all thirteen colonies. Which is the connotation you attempted to project. Adding on the sly jab shows you think like a lawyer, too.
That was the very first quote I remember from my first day of law school.
Law Prof: "We're not here to teach you the law. You're going to do that for yourselves. We're here to teach you to think like a lawyer."
So Hank, been to law school? If not, you should consider it. You've got the chops.
Not sure what the “ad hominem” is you presume I used, since I wasn’t making an argument, which is what ad hominem pertains to.
You were the one that described your method as being the one lawyers use to get rich, I believe.
Hank
“Ad Hominem refers to a personalized attack. The comment about lawyers was strictly an “aside.” Nothing. Off the cuff. You questioned my integrity concerning the “truth.” “That’s an ad hominem attack.”
Well, you are an educator so I’m not surprised at this.
“Ad hominem fallacy - (against the man). Ad hominem is the attempt to impugn an argument by attacking the arguer’s character, motives, personality, intentions, or qualifications.
“(Note: Insulting, denigrating, or impugning the character or morality of an individual, in itself, however reprehensible, is not necessarily an ‘ad hominem,’ as is frequently and falsely alleged. It is an ad hominem only if the personal attacks are used within the scope of a logical argument.)
“Example: ‘Harry couldn’t possibly know what good food is, he was raised in England.’ The ad hominem is only implied, that being from England disqualifies someone from making good judgement about cuisine. The attacks are usually more vituperative than this example.
http://usabig.com/iindv/articles_stand/perm/fallacies.php#adhom
Most people are wrong about what an ad hominem is as they are about what the fallacy of, “begging the question,” is, which has nothing to do with asking a question. I’d be willing to bet you misuse that one too.
Hope you aren’t teaching logic, or English. What do you teach, anyway, since you made much of that.
Hank
American Government (all levels including Advanced Placement), Economics, psychology and sociology. 20+ years over all. The last 15 deep in the inner city of the 4th largest school district in the nation. In 2001 I was my schools elected choice for social studies Teacher of the Year. I might have it again this year, but I'm not really "trying for it" given my wife's bout with breast cancer and having just finished her chemotherapy and now lining up for radiation, etc. In the great scheme of life, those things mean very little to me in comparison to the woman I have adored for over 22 years.
LOL!
Best post on the thread (in my opinion).
It's not an accident that this happened to a kindergarten child. This is an example of a national agenda in the public schools that's been ongoing for at least 40 years. The goal is to instill submission to government. Unquestioning, instant submission. Especially where it concerns issues of self preservation. The government wants mindless, helpless sheep for it's citizenry.
Case in point: I just now had a student come into my classroom (I'm on planning right now) and hand me a release form to sign because this individual had been in a fight and was suspended. She had complained about her attacker before the fight to the administration. In fact when set upon, my gifted student had tried to walk away from the conflict three times but the attack continued until she was forced to defend herself and as a result she gets a suspension, along with her assailant. This is institutionalizing the psychological concept of Learned Helplessness.
It begins in elementary school and is reinforced in lockstep in every grade and across ALL school districts of any substantial size across the country. I can't speak about a school in small town like Bandera Texas, but I'll bet my bottom dollar it's the policy in Houston and Dallas! Also, Austin for sure.
This is why I'm so certain that this country is not going to make it in the long term. This satanic agenda has been in full force for so many decades that not only is the current generation hopelessly contaminated but so are their parents and grand parents! Where do we get the majority of our armed forces and police when it comes to education? Public schools, of course. Even 99% of the private schools teach the same things and if you don't think so, just trot on down and ask them. Most schools are proud of it! They call it "Conflict Resolution" skills and pre-emptive action to "prevent violence in society." The agenda is reinforced in other ways.
Don't be surprised if your 6th grader comes home and asks if you own any of those evil assault rifles and then don't be mad when your own kid turns you in to the authorities. All part of the plan. Check what your child's school social studies texts say about the Second Amendment and don't expect any changes to be added because of either the Heller or MacDonald cases. Be especially wary of Advanced Placement classes! These take the brightest of the bright and really pour on the propaganda. Then it really gets the FINISHING touches in college.
You won't even recognize your kid when it's all over and you'll wonder where it all went wrong. The answer is: SCHOOL. Keep careful watch on the curriculum and do everything in your power to counteract the agenda which is powerful but not invincible. Taking your family to church and reinforcing that with weekly Bible Study is a great solution to the influences of evil in our lives. Enlist the help of some other Christian parents with whom you are friends and neighbors. Safety in numbers.
Learned helplessness and total submission to authority. It all certainly makes sense when you explain it that way. Thank you for taking the time and effort to post that.
