Ha! When I was reading the post about California’s problems making payroll, I thought of that ad. IIRC, those ads came out in 2006 or 2007-before the great meltdown of 2008. Another warning sign overlooked, IMO. And your idea for the parody ad is great...it would be very effective....too bad it’ll never happen because the Republicans are (even now) too afraid of being called ‘racist’ (you KNOW that’s what the ad will be called, no matter how unjustified.)

Thanks for your comments. I feel the same way you do about how wimpy the Pubbies are, but they really do need some ad writers who are clever and GUTSY enough to lob some very well-honed barbs at the ballooning deficits the Libs in the WH and Congress are so busy--with a lot of hot air--asking the American tax-payers to finance.

PLEASE--someone here at FR MUST know of a good ad writer who the Pubs could find and use--we all here at FR could help with ideas. Goodness, considering all the great cartoons--and comments--Freepers come up with, we could provide some great ideas for ads: ones that could challenge people to not THINK about the dangers of "Progresssivism"--but FEEL it too.

IOW--use the "emotionalism" the Libs so love to use and turn it right back at 'em--only in a way that is also "edgey" enough to appeal to the mind as well as the gut.
