That's some interesting research. Having DNA molecules be absorbed on to an aluminum surface and somehow using it to mass duplicate and produce molecular level circuitry. In other words, organic ultra small microchips. At least after glancing at it, that's what the paper seemed to be saying.

The fact that the writer has just a BA in Physics would lead one to think he's a grad student in their mid-20's, not 38 as the shooter is described. Probably not the same guy, but if he is it's like something from a storyline on Fringe.

His physics degree from UC Santa Cruz was 1994, so would be about the right age.
