You know in theory, that’s a good idea. My experience has been the minute you try to organize something that by nature is spontaneous- you’re in for disappointments.

If we look at some of these “events” on FR- we normally cover the challenges you mentioned.

Someone shows up who will copy/paste or otherwise save the website. We always share the links and URL’s in posts so experts are able to take it from there. We almost act as though we DO have a pre-arranged agreement and normally I see pings to other freepers who might know more about this topic- or where to find more.

We invariably have someone who lives in or near the area the news is happening- we get police dispatches and scanner traffic, local news stations and streaming coverage when necessary. Or someone’s cousin was there and called the freeper and gave an eyewitness account.

I don’t mean to throw cold water on your idea- I just have an innate distrust of committees! But- that’s just me and I’ve been wrong before.

No, I dont mean to over bureaucratize it either. But something in place to scare the guano out of our opponents. Of course, we end up doing that anyways, ask Dan Rather.
