House panel approves Armenian genocide measure

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A congressional panel voted on Thursday to label as "genocide" the World War One-era massacre of Armenians by Turkish forces, despite pressure from the Obama administration and Turkey to drop the matter.

The controversial measure passed the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee in a closer-than-expected vote of 23-22.

The issue puts President Barack Obama between NATO ally Turkey, which rejects calling the events genocide, and an important U.S. Armenian-American constituency and their backers in Congress ahead of a November congressional election.

the real significance of this vote is: the went against the anointed one.

His is loosing power rapidly, even amongst his own.

After his stumping for dingy harry in Nevada, dingy’s poll #’s went down 10%.

Now we must BEG obyummer to go up to San Francisco and stump for peelFace

So happy America has managed to p+ss off Turkey. We in Europe are not allowed to express our disgust towards that nation. We would be sent to jail on the grounds of islamophobia and racism.
Thank you Congress.

Genocide is awful and atrocious. Our Congress doesn’t need to point the finger at anyone. Understandable that Turkey would be mad, to bad they have no real clout to beat Congress violently with this stick.

Our left-wing hand wringers will over step one day. Just onder when that will happen and the American people will say “ENOUGH!!!!”

A few years ago when this came up I was strongly opposed, but since Turkey has kept heading down the road of becoming another Islamic Craphole, this time around I couldn't really care less whether it passes or not.

If you are not a Muslim, you SHOULD CARE.

The Turks are guilty of genocide against a Christian minority. And it was not just Armenians, but also Chaldean and Assyrian Christians.

If the Turks are no determined NOT to admit guilt in exterminating Christians in the first holocaust of the 20th century - screw them, screw their NATO participation, and screw their government.

As for Obama, I guess he is just pandering to the feckless western European “democracies” or else, the Armenians aren't dark pigmented enough to merit his consideration.

Don't forget, when the chips were down, the Turks showed their true color in the Iraqi war. They threw themselves on the side of Saddam and other Muslims by blocking our access to Iraq from the North and west, which delaying the invasion of Fallujah.

Hopefully, this WILL BE ONE SMALL STEP FORWARD taken against Islamic oppression of non-Muslims and will be followed by similar condemnations of their genocidal attacks on other religious minorities in other Muslim crapholes.

Turkey pays BIG money for lobbyists AND FOR THE PUBLICATION OF AMERICAN SCHOOL MATERIALS to ensure their view is the only view taught.

All you need to do is influence materials bought in Calif, TX and FL and you control school books. California jumps at the idea of free materials.

The way Muslims keep beating up on other non-Muslims IS our business - ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY ARE COMING HERE IN LARGER AND LARGER NUMBERS.

Apparently I know more about the Turks and what they have done to Christians in the last 1000 years than you do.

All I am saying is that the US Congress has more important things to do than point a finger at anyone ... let alone something that happened in the last century.

I am not talking religion, religious persecution or any of that. I am talking about rampaging politicians who need to concentrate on the problems at hand.

I really do not want to talk about one religions persecution of another or one nationality’s persecution of another. This was in Mews/Activism and not Religion.
