LASHKAR GAH, Afghanistan -- A man who was freed from Guantanamo after he claimed he only wanted to go home and help his family is now a senior commander running Taliban resistance to the U.S.-led offensive in southern Afghanistan, two senior Afghan intelligence officials say.

Abdul Qayyum is also seen as a leading candidate to be the next No. 2 in the Afghan Taliban hierarchy, said the officials, interviewed last week by The Associated Press.

The story of Abdul Qayyum could add to the complications U.S. President Barack Obama is facing in fulfilling his pledge to close the prison at Guantanamo.

He’s helping his family. By waging jihad against the subhuman kufir.

Screw it.
Take them all to Alcatraz and leave them there.
Helo in a couple of pigs once a week - they can eat or not.
Chum the waters around the island daily.

“Obama has the blood of American soldiers on his hands.”

I wonder why they would release this guy from Gitmo as they likely knew he would return to the battlefield and be a commanding officer?

Don’t capture terrorists.
Kill them on the spot.
Turn them over to authorities and they’ll get released to kill more folks.
Way to go obammy.

“Way to go obammy.”

As fun as it would be to blame Obama, a lot of Gitmo detainess were released when Bush was President too.

There are only two solutions to dealing with terrorists...

1. Executed immediately upon capture.

2. Sent to Gitmo with NO possibility of release whatsoever.

#1 works fine for me.....

Although,on second thought,I'd favor questioning in the field, immediately upon capture...and *then* executed.

LOL!

Yes, I stand corrected. A brief period of really painful interrogation is neccesary before the assclown gets offed by our troops.

You think to ask that question. I think to ask that question. The problem is that NOBODY in this administration (except perhaps the politcal advisers who are paid to watch Obama's 6) are asking this question. It doesn't even occur to them that they are making a huge mistake.

Nononono...what you need to do is slowly cut off their hands....then interrogate them...then make them watch CMT for three hours....

Sorry...I’m really bad at the torture porn threads.

I'm shocked that the prisoner lied to his captors.

Actually, it was not the current administration that decided to release this guy.
