Congratulations to Rick Perry and the Conservatives. In a way I wish I lived in Texas. It's one of the last bastions of freedom left in America.

But let's not be so tough on Republicans who are not Rick Perry types. I'm referring to California, where I live. The best we can do for governor is Meg Whitman. She's no Rick Perry but she's a damn site better than Jerry Brown. I wish we had a Rick Perry or Bob McDonnell running but we have settle for what we can get. I will be ruthlessly trashed by those who would rather lose than have a moderate Republican but I'm use to it. Not everywhere can we elect this type of politician. Where we can elect true Conservatives like Perry and McDonnell- great. But where we can't we will have to settle for fiscal conservatives like Whitman and Tom Campbell.

Perry is not on our side, but he’s much better than total RINO Whitman and loser Campbell. Those two aren’t even fiscal conservatives.

Rick Perry is not the conservative that he pretends to be. Just a few years ago he was in hot water with the right. He appointed an abortionist to the state supreme court, signed one of those stupid "hate crimes" laws, issued an executive order mandating all schoolgirls receive the Gardasil vaccine, flip-flopped in favor of illegal immigration, endorsed Rudy Giuliani for President, and signed a massive new state franchise tax into law.

Then he figured out that the wind was shifting in the tea party direction, showed up at one of their early rallies at the Alamo, gave his name to some meaningless bluster about Texas resuming its independence, and became their instant hero.

Bottom line: most voters are dumb. Only difference between us and the Democrats is that our voters are just a little less dumb.

The best we can do for governor is Meg Whitman.

I've heard this blather for years now in California, it wasn't true with Arnold, and it's not true with Whitman.

Furthermore, she is pro-Abortion.

Which in this conservative's book makes her somebody I can't vote for unless I am willing to sacrifice my most important principles.

I guess the GOP decided it did not want the votes of conservatives this year.
