Yes, starting over is good politics and good legislation. Keeping the Dems talking about anything other than jobs hurts them. Starting over would be a confession of defeat & incompetence. The new bill could not be worse. The only down side is I hope the Dems talk about reconciliation for another week or so — it drives independents insane and the blue dogs slowly bleed.... And, when recon fails, the hard fringe will explode.

Mr. President, Tear Up This Bill !

I agree with those who reject the conclusion of “SNATCHING DEFEAT FROM THE JAWS OF VICTORY”.

Tossing the current bills and starting over is a massive loss for the Democrats. They burned a lot of political capital and goodwill trying to force this abomination through — having to start over from square 1 might as well be tantamount to them quitting altogether.

The Republicans, McCain included, are quite smart and correct in saying that the as-is legislation has to be scrapped and that there is real reform (as opposed to government take-over) that can be enacted in a bipartisan fashion. They get to take the high road while Obama, Pelosi, and Reid continue to pay heavy costs for forcing through a bill against the wishes of their members and the general public.

I’m no McCain fan, but let’s not tee off on the guy when he’s right.

Exactly! We want them to start over. Start with strong Tort Reform. Like Loser Pay. Hold firm, we want reform not a remake of the system.

McLame's trademark: Too little too late.

Well, maybe his second trademark, after the obvious one of siding with his "dear friends on the other side of the aisle" in opposition to Conservative ideals.

peel off a couple of Republicans as they did with the stimulus bill and call it bipartisan," McCain said.

If he is saying this to postpone things until after April I applaud him. But in my heart of hearts I think he would sell us out for one favorable oped from the NYT. Go Hayworth.

It is unfortunate that the teaparty, whoever it is that is speaking for them, has apparently said they will endorse noone in the Arizona senate race. Can somebody explain that?

Yes, let’s start over in January, 2011 and hopefully, Juan, you will have been replaced by J. D. Hayworth, a true conservative.

I think the McCain/Hayworth election is a real test for the Tea Party movement. It’s hard to think of a Republican more useless than McCain.

“McCain can be counted on every time to screw things up.”

He’s just doing his job. The current GOP half of the “kill the United States” tag team. Just like the dive he took in the ‘08 election. Just like Dole.

McPain is too willing to give rather than stand and fight. He hasn’t figured it out yet. They don’t give, they take.

If McPain hasn’t realized they take, but don’t give at this late point in his political history, then we have to usher the man to the door, and place an imprint of a sole of a boot clearly upon his ass.

Can somebody explain that?

How could they do otherwise and keep pure their professed love for Sarah ?

But wasn’t it teaparty people who asked J.D. Hayworth to run? by the way, I like Sarah Palin, but I still want Hayworth to win.

I can’t stand McPain, but I don’t see what your problem is here. If he’s saying “Start from scratch,” that’s pretty much what we want them to do.
