Actually Brooks was defeated in 1994 by Stockman. Stockman took the district for one term and Nick Lampson then held it for until the DeLay redistricting went into effect.
Oops! You’re right! I forgot the timeline. I knew Brooks was defeated by Stockman and then Lampson took over. Too bad Stockman was incompetent but THAT, I could tell right off the bat.
