TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police say out of numerous potential witnesses, only one person had any information to offer in a shooting overnight Sunday at the Chicken Hut restaurant, 1500 E. Apache.

The shooting victim, 27-year-old Valentino Verner, later died of his wounds at a Tulsa hospital.

Restaurant patrons even shoved past emergency workers, stepping over the victim to get their food.

Tulsa Police, firefighters and ambulance personnel responded to a call of shots fired at the restaurant at about 3 a.m.

They say when they arrived at the Chicken Hut, they found Verner lying on the ground in front of the restaurant's pick-up window.

He had been shot multiple times, according to Tulsa Police Sergeant Mike Eckert.

They had a difficult time getting through the crowd to provide aid to the victim, and no one was trying to help the injured man, Eckert said. People were instead stepping over Verner to get to their food orders.

Eckert said customers even shoved past emergency personnel as they went to the take out window.

After questioning the crowd, they found only one person – a relative of the victim - who had any information about the shooting. That man could only say the suspect was a man in a blue jacket with a hood.

"Exactly one person chose to call 911 to advise us of the shooting," Eckert said. He added that there were more than 100 people in the parking lot when emergency personnel arrived.

"Nobody wants to talk to us. No one wants to give us any information," he said.

Police are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.

Just don’t think of this kind of crowd when you think Oklahoma. Guess it’s that ideal imagery that rarely equals reality.

First was the WalMart stampede where so many stormed the store that a WalMart employee was trampled to death by the crowd. All in the name of a SALE. Now this. This earth needs a serious cleansing.

Nah,

More likely this crowd apparently might drag the guy out of the way so they could get to the order window more conveniently.

As someone else said on the thread, this world is in need of a serious cleansing.

I lived in Tulsa. I know where this is, and the type of people in that area.

That's just not hygienic. You should step around a shooting victim not over him.

Hell no, but if I was there at 3 AM I probably wouldn't be in any condition to talk to the po-leese either.

I used to go to a rib joint in da hood.
Always went with another person and we would both be packing.
Would bring a German Shepard to guard the car too.

LOL The ribs were that good. And we were that dumb.

Reminds of the black idiots who trampled the WalMart employee to death in Valley Stream, on Long Island, New York, on Black Friday in November, 2008.

Just got the Fried Chicken song (Zac Brown Band) out of my brain/singin it the last few days.

It was the song KV played Loud with the group of young ladies he shuttled singing it by heart Loud after the Seafood Wine fest as he dropped them off at there next party spot.

We had allot of fun being volenteer drivers and that group was one of the most memorable having a good time.

So I read this thread and the Fried Chicken song starts playing in the brain again...LOL

Either the patrons are low lifes or the shootee was.

Odds are that both are. 3 AM Sunday morning, hanging at the "chicken" place? Cops should have checked some of those bags of "food". Might have made a nice "side" bust or three.

They have a suspect though, 23-year-old Samien Feals, so somebody "ratted". Or they "gave up" a rival. Been known to happen.
