I’ve always liked Romney, and figured he was more of a strict constuctionist than being from Mass. would allow.

How about when he dropped his Republican registration in the 1980s because of President Reagan, or when he was giving money and fund raising only for liberal democrats for a while before he became a Republican again in 1993?

Mitt Romney: "I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush. I'm not trying to return to Reagan-Bush."

I dropped from the Republican Party as well because of the way Hastert ran the GOP so far off conservative principles. Granted, I’m not a reachable voter for any Democrat, but I think you’ll find many of us small government conservative libertarian leaning people who used to be die-hard GOP warriors. Now, I will wait until Sarah Palin becomes the leader of the GOP before I put the GOP pin on again.
