Taiwanese disappointed not to see a tsunami
Feb 28, 2010, 12:28 GMT
Taipei - While people in many countries worried that the tsunami caused by Saturday's earthquake in Chile might strike their region, some Taiwanese were disappointed Sunday when no tsunami occurred in Taiwan.
The TV channel CTI showed thrill-seeking Taiwanese waiting on the east coast for the tsunami which the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre had predicted would arrive at around 2:30 pm (0630 GMT).
Holding cameras and binoculars, the holidays makers - some bringing along their children - waited on the shore for hours, but were disappointed when no tsunami appeared at the predicted time.
'It's a pity that the tsunami did not come. We came all the way to see the tsunami,' one holiday maker said while snapping pictures of the sea.

P!
Blame global warming for this one too.
They can still look forward to the chimcom tsunami.
but were disappointed when no tsunami appeared at the predicted time.
Future Obama voters.
They can also look forward to the standing wave from the large chuck of Hawaii which will slide into the sea sometime in the future...
Waves created by up and down motions are like waves at the beach - a wave created by a slide is a standing wave whose creast can be measured in kilometers - these waves do not break, but continue until they strike a feature taller them themselves (something several hundred meters high or more). Standing wave = no high ground.
