I think so, I was just learning CSS and DHTML way back then. Nowdays, I am so way much better that I am actually developing for a very VERY prestigious group. High level .NET, JQuery/js, XAML, XHTML, you name it. I'd be glad to help if you are needing any -- can't imagine why, though, John's almost as good as I am. :)

Yes, I remember now. It was me. I also am the ONE challengee that beat John at the challenge: Beat my HTML scrubber. I found one way to actually beat it using legitimate character sequences. We don’t talk about how, publicly — trolls do look here. :)
