I don't see much danger of that period....maybe an epic cataclysm...probably not even then.
What we think is largely due to what we are and where we come from...I know PC folks hate that notion but I've lived long enough to see it over and over....I can usually tell on this forum who I'm dealing with on many issues just by their tone and stance.
I wish I had that Herzberg quote handy..."Jews are by innate tradition expected to question assumptions in the culture they always inhabit as a minority"
if true that makes conservatism unlikely ever..
though some...lol...ignore all that and follow empirical observation, logic and the God who created them..and I thank them for it
Maybe more will become conservative then. The assumptions of the majority--from popular culture and entertainment to education and politics--coincide with their general views.
Yes, because the surrounding culture is assumed to be based on false religions. The ironic thing is that today many Jews critique the very things about their host cultures that are ultimately derived from Judaism and instead engage in stuff like "bringing down the moon," earth worship, and other kinds of `avodah zarah.
Don't you think "conservatism" is required to preserve Jewish Tradition for over 3300 years?
