OP-ED CONTRIBUTOR We Cant Wish Away Climate Change
By AL GORE February 27, 2010 It would be an enormous relief if the recent attacks on the science of global warming actually indicated that we do not face an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it.
Of course, we would still need to deal with the national security risks of our growing dependence on a global oil market dominated by dwindling reserves in the most unstable region of the world, and the economic risks of sending hundreds of billions of dollars a year overseas in return for that oil. And we would still trail China in the race to develop smart grids, fast trains, solar power, wind, geothermal and other renewable sources of energy the most important sources of new jobs in the 21st century.
But what a burden would be lifted! We would no longer have to worry that our grandchildren would one day look back on us as a criminal generation that had selfishly and blithely ignored clear warnings that their fate was in our hands. We could instead celebrate the naysayers who had doggedly persisted in proving that every major National Academy of Sciences report on climate change had simply made a huge mistake.
I, for one, genuinely wish that the climate crisis were an illusion.

Since when have we come to expect AG to hold a “coherent thought” in his head?
I didn’t realize that the Times attaches a barf bag to their OP-ED page??
How can anyone read this crap without getting a projectile moment?
Isn’t it wonderful when Al lies to reporters and then believes what he reads in the papers?
Hopefully your jail cell will be hotter than hell in the summertime!
Thanking the Good Lord above that cretin never became our P.O.T.U.S back in 2000!
Can I haz global warming plz?
Seriously, I am ALL FOR global warming. More global warming now!
Hey, hey! Ho, ho! Subzero days have got to go!
SPOT ON — THANK YOU for your comment. Al Gore is one of the world’s biggest scam artists and doesn’t want people to get in the way of his carbon credit BILLIONS. What a lousy human being — trying to help millions lose their jobs, SO THE STINKING LIBERAL CAN MAKE BILLIONS FOR HIMSELF.
Responding only to addition to Headline.
I wish he were an illusion
The doofus has been curled up in the fetal position, in the dark, in his basement, fingers in his ears whining la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la! for the last few months, if he still believes that global warming" is a 'science' under the circumstances revealed in the giant data manipulation conspiracy.
Needless to say, I stopped reading after that first sentence. Life is too short.
If the stupid son of a bitch would start serving the people instead of himself he might get somewhere. He is ignoring God and that will cost him. Al Gore is on a mission and he doesn’t give a damn whether he is right or wrong. His mission is money, period.
Wish granted.
I will say that Al Gore is credited for inventing something.
He is in denial, thinking that if he says it’s true, then it’s true. The public has awakened to the scientific method and scientific ethics. His words just won’t do it any more.
And while I’m here, I’ll vent. I had to defend every number and statement that went into my PhD dissertation, first in front of red-meat-hungry fellow graduate students and post-docs, and then in front of a humorless Committee. And my work wasn’t going to plunge nations into irretrievable economic maelstroms.
After living as a chemist through DDT, pesticide cancer scares, environmental crapola, ozone-hole thinning, and AGW alarmism/fraud, I think perhaps there is a corrollary to someone’s law:
“The burden of proof in a leftist-inspired scientific excercise in a political arena is inversely proportional to the impact on society.”
That could be on a T shirt and sell

I see lots of “green” in my future! LOL!
