We are not throwing them a lifeline. The GOP had to attend this or the no-show would have become the media drumbeat for weeks, making BOcare easier to pass.
All we have to do today is NOT change the dynamic.
Here come more sob stories...about sob stories.
We’re an hour into a six hour meeting and it’s still introductory remarks. No one can bloviate like a washington pol - on either side of the aisle. It’s amazing.
Coburn just zinged Obama good on cost shifting to the private market. That’s my Senator.
Now Obama gets to comment again on the Reps and just guts what Coburn said. The Obama bill addresses all of that fraud and contains prevention incentives. The result, pass Obamacare and it will solve everything. The Reps have made a major mistake in the way this is structured. Obama gets to rebut every Rep.
Unsportsmanlike conduct. 1 trillion dollar fine on dingy Harry and OhNoBa.
This Summit is now offically a joke. I can’t waste any more time watching it.
The only thing that will be important in the next 5 hours is who gets the better zingers in and sound bites. Those will be shown tonight on the nightly news. This conference in and of itself is a waste of time, and will not change any of the dynamics of the legislation.
That's for sure. Unconstitutional big government.
What planet is Obama from? This is truly political theatrical. Is he just laying the groundwork to say he has to use the “nuclear” option because of the stubborn Republicans. My guess is yes.
HEY, Mitch finally said it. “We are here representing the American people.” Thank you Senator. And thank you for putting forward DOCTOR Sen. Tom Coburn to give some true insight. Unfortunately, many of the TV networks have cut away.
Coburn just said: "The tort system is a major cause of costs!" Hear that America?!
oops - sorry for the double.
No. Dictating what you can and cannot buy to eat with MY (taxpayer) money.
Food stamps are MY money. I don’t want abortions or Twinkies or Bud Lite paid for with MY money. If a food stamp-eligible citizen wants those things, they should have to pay for them with their own dime.
I hear you.
This is just awful.
The Republicans need to interrupt Hoyer and all the democrats.
time is up stenny
NEXT!
Oh gawd, now Hoyer joining in with his own anedote.....crap.
What are you watching?
Now Hoyer gets to tell his sad little story....
But Coburn zinged him back.
OH NO another sob story.
TEAR MY HEART OUT, STENY!
Oh..... Government inflicts disease (higher risk of diabetes) on our children and we are going to put them in charge of our health?
Good one
