Palin/Paul Alliance 2012!! ~~ Oh Lord no!Oh, Lord, yes.
Been awhile in coming, but here we come.
- Sarah Palin was one of only three State governors endorsed by Ron Paul's PAC as a "libertarian Republican" in 2006. The other two were Mark Sanford in South Carolina and Butch Otter in Idaho.
- Sarah Palin offered a great plug to Ron Paul in his 2008 Presidential campaign. "He's a good guy," she added. "He's so independent. He's independent of the party machine. I'm like, 'Right on, so am I.'"
- Sarah Palin endorsed Rand Paul in 2010. The former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican Vice-Presidential nominee said in a written statement that she's "proud to support grassroots candidates like Dr. Paul." She said she is lending her support because Paul, the son of former presidential candidate Ron Paul of Texas, wants to "shake up the status quo in Washington."
The truth of the matter is, there has been a loose alliance between the Palin camp and the Paul camp going back at least 4 years. Just as there was a loose alliance between the RonPaulist libertarians and the Reagan Republicans back in 1976 and 1980. This isn't a "rivalry". It's a political alliance.
The Palin/Paul Alliance. The new definition of "American Conservatism".
