With this bill hanging out there no one will be hiring until it passes or is killed. In the end this does the exact opposite of what is intended, instead of encouraging companies to hire; it actually discourages it while it is in the works.
Exactly Jo...putting off hiring until this passes. At $1000. a head if a compnay was (past tense) going to hire the’ll likely hold out for couple months...ten employees would give them $10,000 at end of the year, if they stay a year, so they’ll also be careful to get as much a commitment as possible.
Am wondering though if the unemployed couldn’t use this to their favor...if the company would consider hiring them they’ll stay a year and so they’ll qualify that employer for a $1, ooo. Might put them ahead of the pack of those considered for hire within the company. hummmm Plus they’ll get a 6.2% tax break on social security...for hiring them which these begin immediately.
