Gunfire hits 2 kids at Deer Creek Middle School in LittletonOne student critical

The two injured teenagers were identified as Matt Thieu and Reagan Weber.

Matt, initially treated at Littleton Adventist Hospital, was later transferred to Children's Hospital, where he was in critical condition late Tuesday night. Reagan was treated at the Littleton hospital and released a few hours later.

Jefferson County authorities identified the alleged gunman was Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood, 32. He was held on two counts of attempted murder, said Jacki Kelley, spokeswoman for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

I know that this story has been posted before. However, it is my hope that posting it again will bring to attention to the condition of Matt Thieu. Matt was shot in the chest by this animal. He is in critical condition. Please pray for this young man and his family.

The bizarre burst of gunfire that erupted just after 3 p.m. at Deer Creek Middle School, 9201 W. Columbine Drive, ended when David Benke, a 57-year-old math teacher, rushed the shooter, wrestled him to the ground and held on as others helped him subdue the man.

The teacher said that he told his students that if a Columbine incident happened at their school he would go after the shooter.

It did and he did........saving lives at the risk of his own.

Let’s see, the way I read it, a man with a RIFLE (hunting rifle it said so I assume there was also a scope attached) at a SCHOOL. But thanks to the quick thinking math teacher, he gunman was subdued, God bless you sir! Outstanding.

As an aside, I just received a recorded message from Jeffco county schools, telling us the children sustained “NO Life Threatening Injuries”..then asking us to disregard the unsubstantiated rumors regarding a further attack today and to send our kids to school. I guess that Matt is listed in critical condition with a shotgun blast to the chest because the doctors found a hangnail..

I guess it doesn’t matter the race/nationality. We know there are kooks of all colors /nationalities.. When they do this sort of thing I believe the label “terrorist” works just fine!

It is no surprise that most are from a certain “group” shall we say..

Here's more info on him from the Denver Post. His dad is Bo War Eagle Eastwood, so I guess he comes by the name honestly.

I have known many American Indians that I find were great people.. but just like all humanity,there are some with issues & problems..

I would have loved to have seen this country hundreds of years ago when all the tribes were free to roam, yes, fight & be their own people. I am one of the Americans that think we did the Indians a wrong along the way.
