What about cutting some of the unnecessary tests which doctors order because they must practice defensive medicine to avoid vexatious lawsuits by the trial lawyer industry?
The lawyers tell us that lawsuits are responsible for only 5% of medical costs. What they don't tell us is that those are the direct costs from the litigation and awards. The tests ordered to defend against this litigation are at least three to four times that amount.

Or use the proper drugs to treat a health issue. Insurance companies only want to pay for generics, not all generics work as well, and they need more frequent testing to make sure they are working, they may not also come in as many strengths as the name brand, and the FILLERS are different which have their own side effects. The generics for Synthroid are one of those drugs that are like that. Endocrinologist usually don't prescribe the generic for those reasons. The name brand works better!
So instead of my getting tested twice a year on the name brand, I'd have to be tested 4 times a year if I were stupid enough to take the generic form, which causes ulcers in your mouth and your hair to fall out. So I pay for my name brand, they can keep their generic crap.
