He said in his ads he would be independent and he has worked with Dems in Mass before. The only people who said Brown would vote “in lockstep with Republicans” were the union folks who ran ads against him (including that flyer saying “The Bush Is Brown”).
To get elected in MA, it would be highly unlikely for someone who would vote conservative on every issue. Here in the People’s Republic we have to take what we can.
(Reminder: MA has 1 Rep US senator, 1 Dem; all 10 US Reps
are Democrat. The Gov, Lt Gov, Auditor, Treasurer (until he became an Unenrolled), Sec of State, were all voted in as Democrats. 5, make that 4, out of 40 state senators are
Republican. Maybe 15 state Reps, out of 160, are Republican.

Talk host Michael Graham on WTKK was mentioning as long as Scott votes against the huge health care bill, votes to curb spending, and so on, he’s fine with us.

He the Dems not changed the rules; had Ted resigned and the special election gone forth months ago, we would have yet another Dem vote. And that meant Dem each and every time._

Massachusetts hasn't had a Republican Attorney General since Elliot Richardson (1967-9), and hasn't had a Republican Secretary of the Commonwealth since 1949. Granted Secretary of State is pretty much a nothing job, but it goes to show just how Democrat the state is.
