Scott Brown is taking fire from Facebook friends and the Twittering class for his cross-over vote on Harry Reid’s job bill. But the reaction from a lot of Republicans is a “what-did-you-expect” shrug.
Minutes after the Brown cast his cloture Monday night, the Web erupted in comments from conservatives who felt they’d been betrayed by the Massachusetts Republican: “We’ve been scammed!” “Write your senator from Boston or 2010 will be the Brown Sox Curse." “Forget about Brown for President. He’s made his first mistake.”?

Th people of Massachusetts seat. Massacuhesets happens to be the most liberal state in the country.
The “people's seat” doesn't mean the people of deep red states like Alabama or Utah.
If you voted for Scott Brown expecting him to vote like a Senator from Mississippi, then you are living in dreamland.

Here is the very inspiring keynote speech given by Glenn Beck at CPAC. Its main message is that our problem is not Barack Obama, our problem is progressivism. But Republicans are part of that problem — sadly, it didn’t take long for me to read in the press more evidence that he is right.
Yesterday, Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts — along with four other Republicans — broke with GOP leaders to support the new “jobs bill” going through Congress.
Why? I have no clue. This bill won’t have much effect on the economy. Shouldn’t Republicans grasp that, at this stage? I understand that the bill featured four provisions that might sound appealing to Republicans, and to anyone who doesn’t understand basic economics, including a measure exempting businesses hiring the unemployed from Social Security payroll taxes through December and giving them another $1,000 credit if new workers stay on the job a full year.
Let me explain in simple words. These tax credits are a brilliant example of bipartisan nonsense. If your business is slow, and your customers are not buying your goods and services, it is likely that your tax liability will be significantly reduced or even nonexistent. No tax liability, no need for a tax credit. Better yet, no customers, no need for employees, tax credit or not. (Duh.)
Oh, and by the way, economists at the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the largest association of small business owners in the country, have been saying for months that this is not what businesses need right now
If Scott Brown wants to help the economy recover, he needs to understand that giving with one hand while stealing big time with the other hand won’t do it. What do I mean? Well, extending useless tax credits on the one hand while the president is proposing big tax increases for those earning more than $250,000 a year on the other. And, of course, those tax increases will include all the small business owners that report their business income as individual income.

Yup. Time will tell who’s correct. I hope its you, but I fear its me.
Brown ran as a fiscal conservative. Now we ALL can see, what some of us already knew. Brown is just another big government Republican. With all the unspent billions of dollars of stimulus money floating around WashDC, the last thing the Congress should be voting for is even more spending. This is fiscal insanity and Brown is right at the center of it. In Brown's first major vote as Senator, he upheld the liberal traditions of Ted Kennedy, by voting to expand the federal government by another $15-billion and at a time when America is on the verge of financial collapse.
Who said that?
But then his primary campaign themes were:
# 1. Being the 41st vote against 0bamacare.
# 2. Against trying KSM and the Gitmo terrorists in New York.
#3. Against reading Miranda rights to terrorists like the Cristmas bomber. His line was, “tax payer dollars should be spent on helping our soldiers right terrorists, bot giving them layers”
# 4. He supported using “enhanced interrogation techniques” on captured terrorists”.
Again, he is the senator from Massachusetts, the bluest of blue states. He is never going to vote the same way as a senator from a deep red state. Not gonna happen.

It's not a key issue for me. It's in Massachusetts, not in any other state.

Brown is not the Senate Majority leader. His name happens to be Harry Reid. This bill is Harry Reid's creation. he is at the heat and canter of it, not Scott Brown.

Ummm..this was not Browns first vote, his first vote was to vote against, and stop a communist 0bama nominee and union thug from taking office. Scott Brown always said he was going to be an independent voter in the US senate, not according to party lines.

Obviously. Fact remains, if Scott Brown has his way, RomneyCare will replace ObamaCare and will be created in every state in the union. In the end, they might even call it, BrownCare. A pleasing prospect for you, no doubt.

Romneycare is called Romneycare for a reason. It's Mitt Romney's baby.
Given that Republicans make up a very small percentage of the Massachusetts state Senate seats, it's totally irrelevant how Scott Brown voted, Romenycare would have passed anyway from the massive Democratic Party majority.
If you want to stop Romneycare in the rest of the country, the guy you have too vote against is Mitt Romney, not Scott Brown.

Your wild-eyed infatuation for Scott Brown is disturbing to say the least. Harry Reid has nothing to do with Brown's decision. Brown said he would be an independent thinker.
This vote shows Brown to be a liberal acting fiscally irresponsible and no better then Ted Kennedy or Martha Coakley.

Celebrating the GOP aisle-jumpers that helped prop up Harry Reid’s stature in the Senate, the Washington Post announces that Reid’s jobs bill has advanced past the filibuster stage:
Five Republicans, including new Sen. Scott P. Brown (Mass.), joined 57 Democrats in voting to break a filibuster of the jobs bill, after a suspenseful buildup in which members of both parties wondered whether Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) could cobble together enough support to clear the legislative hurdle.
The bipartisan result marked a breakthrough for Democrats, who have been frustrated since President Obama came to office by their inability to attract much Republican support for their agenda. The vote was also a vindication for Reid, who is grappling with a tough reelection race in Nevada and faced questions in Washington over whether he mishandled the jobs issue.
“I hope this is the beginning of a new day in the Senate,” Reid said after the vote.
New day or not, the bill (which replaced an 85 billion dollar bill that had broad GOP support) has very little chance of doing much to help the unemployment situation. The LA Times highlights the main elements of the bill which include “hiring” tax incentives, an extension of funding for highway programs, an expansion of the “build America” bonds program (to cover “certain school and energy projects”), and an equipment write-off option (as opposed to the standard “depreciation over time” mechanism in your garden variety business......
Brown is a Romney clone! LMBO If you want to stop RomneyCare you have to stop Brown and Romney!
I agree. The Dems are down now, on the ropes. NOW is the time to gut them for good. At least for this election cycle. The RINO’s in the GOP either don’t know how to win or don’t want to win.
