PICTURE CAPTION of what could have been:

Sen. Martha Coakley (D-MA) smiles broadly as she stands behind President Obama, as Obama signed the massive health care bill she helped to pass.

>>where many Democrats were scared away from backing reform after Brown’s victory.

Repeat:

Let those who were first to bash Brown after his vote yesterday remember the meaning of the word “independent”.

Or what? He won’t vote for the next Democrat garbage bill? He’ll hold his breath?

the jobs bill eventually would have likely passed anyway (else be accused in MSM of voting against “jobs”), and Brown has to keep largely liberal Mass voters on his side if we are going to hold back this Socialist tide. I can give him a mulligan on that one.

Brown never portrayed himself as a die hard conservative. He campaigned as an anti-establishment independent Republican - from Massachusetts no less. How can you NOT expect him to consider voting for a jobs bill like this considering his campaign rhetoric to help get congress moving on job creation/helping the economy.

I am not worried about this jobs bill vote, health care will be the issue.

Half a loaf is better than none. We all knew Brown was a Northeastern Republican - that’s the best we’re going to get from there, for now. That’s just reality.

Shut up, Scott. As though anyone would believe you after you railed against excessive spending, and then voted for a job ‘stimulus’ bill!!!!

I don’t care about “fuming”, I care about VOTES. So far he is a disappointment. It will take more than “fuming” to change my opinion.

Scott Brown HELPED HARRY REID to abruptly dump about $70 billion worth of tax breaks for:

- businesses and individuals,
- help for the unemployed and
- additional Medicare payments to doctors

... from a bi-partisan compromise measure unveiled by Grassley (R) and Baucus (D)

Oh Scotty Boy ... if you help HARRY, then life is going to get very hairy for you! Think before you vote!

Trust factor = 0

Just more of the same.

Screw Brown — I campaigned for him, contributed to his campaign, and voted for him

And the first thing he does when he hits DC — votes with the socialists.

I would love to have a pure conservative as the Mass. Senator but the reality is that I would take a small jobs bill over the massive takeover of health care by the gov’t.

So, why don’t our Republican leaders come out against any health care bill at all? No one wants one, no citizen or legal resident(except for a few very stupid ones)wants a frickin’ government controlled health care system. Just say no Republicans, and that includes Mr. RINO Brown.

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2009/10/military_tricarefees_blocked_100709w

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

Snip

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Snip

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

Bambi doesn't keep his promises...so buyer beware.
