McCain is the most dangerous man in the Republican Party. We are INDEED at a crossroads, and McCain can push America over the edge. He has the media to do his dirty work for him.

I’m going to take a different approach here. First of all, we know that the value of endorsements is negligible at best, nonexistent at worst. I mean..nobody votes for X on the basis of what Y says..But it’s a political blurb..makes a nice campaign moment....IMHO, the fact that McCain is placing so much stock on collecting these endorsements, and so early on in the campaign, suggests that he’s really running scared..he knows that he’s in big trouble..that the jig is up. As fara as Palin and Romney go..let’s say they felt they had no choice..because of past history with McCain they had to acceed to his pleas for endorsements..Well, when the medicine tastes bad...hold your nose and swallow it early..get it out fo they way..in a few months..after a debate or two, when JD starts talking about illegal immigration, and McCain’s poll numbers have dissappeared..no one will give a hoot who endorsed him early on.and I’ll wager that neither Sarah nor Mitt will be making any joint appearances with McCain.... and after JD wins..well..all will be forgotten..

Maybe people (even DeMint) don’t think JD has a chance against a democrat challenger? Who is running for the senate seat on the D side? Maybe they think JD would be too vulnerable and they want to protect the AZ senate seat — even if it means keeping McCain. You know JD is not the sharpest knife in the drawer afterall. They should have run someone better against McCain if they were serious.

I've been imagining it for years. It may be hard to imagine, but it can be done if we all send J.D. Hayworth more money today, and keep making donations until it hurts...all the way until the primary in August. McCain now has the benefit of his own war chest, Romney's PAC money and Sarah's PAC money. That, in addition to McCain being totally plugged into the RINO big money machine, makes this sound like Don Quixote's quest. If the Tea Partiers can pull off McCain's defeat, it will be the loudest, most effective message we can send to the liberal Republicans who've almost ruined the GOP.
I do agree with that.
As detestable as McCain is, he did give us Sarah.

I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt mainly because I’m biased and still believe that she isn’t “just another politician”. But I’d sure like to ask her what she based her decision on. And I just had a senior moment....if I remember right, Hayworth hadn’t even announced he was running when she endorsed McCain so perhaps at the time, McCain was the only option against the AZ Dem.

See now, that would make more sense about Palin’s endorsement. If McCain was the only R in AZ running, then I could see how he’d be better than the alternative. And once she had given her endorsement, she would have been slammed for being wishy/washy if she retracted it and then endorsed JD.
I suppose she could have just stayed quiet and not endorsed anyone, but that’s water under the bridge to nowhere now.

Actual I support Rand, Ron is a little too weird for me. However, I would take him, or a ham sandwich over the current occupant of the white house.
It's true that big issues like nationalized health insurance and "climate change" separate the parties pretty cleanly.
However, in the really important areas like incumbent protection -- which ensures a continuing governing oligarchy -- they are virtual carbon copies (carbon paper: that would be the carbon-coated tissue paper you would insert between the original and the copy you wanted to make when you typed . . oh, forget it) of each other.
We must get over this idea that politicians of Party A are significantly different from politicians of Party B. No -- they are different only in that they are beholden to different groups of financial supporters, and because of that will cast their votes in accordance with the desires of various corporate, union, religious and PAC elements in order to gain their continuing campaign contributions.
And, more to the point of this article, when an incumbent of their own party has a challenger, they will nine times out of ten cast their lot with those already in office in order to further their own careers.
It doesn't matter, really, that Romney and McCain were rivals for the Republican presidential nomination two years ago. They each want to project to their various backers the positive image of a "team player" who can be relied on to do their bidding.
