I disagree. Obama's views on abortion and BAIPA (Born Alive Infants Protection Act) were well known. They thought it was "social justice" to elect a man of color, even though he told us what he was going to do all along. Some of the Bishops raised the alarm, but the others just didn't listen. Then, they reacted with shock and alarm when the abortion sections of the healthcare bill became known.
This article is no surprise to me. Many catholics I know when discussing their religion to me are not deep Christians as folks of other faiths. They believe abortion is the right thing, they cling to evolutionism and they are good democrats.
You got to steatch it a bit to lay abortion on them.
You don’t have to streach at all. The Bishops openly supported Ted Kennedy while giving lip service to the Catholics in the pews. They raise money from the parishes and then work against them with ACORN, the unions and abortion and gay rights groups. More and more Catholics are finding out about this newest scandal.
