A mind may be a terrible thing to waste, but if you waste 15 million of them, apparently you get Texas.
That was Keith Olbermann tonight, doing his best to collectively piss off the biggest state in the contiguous U.S. after a recent poll showed that 60 percent of those polled in the cowboy state believe that humans and dinosaurs existed at the same time, or werent sure.
Were not really sure what Olbermanns goal here is except to rile up a bunch of people he even admits that he wishes there was a political association he could pin this on, but then goes on to spout numbers of Democrats versus Republicans who go to church.
Which is a little misleading
theres no data saying that everyone who answered stupidly (i.e. not believing in evolution, or unsure) had strong religious beliefs one way or another.

What, did Texas folk score worse than the rest of the 56 states? heh
>>>As a matter of fact. Keith, we dont know how far back Humans go, nor how close in time to ours the dinosaurs were. Depends, anyway, on what you call a dinosaur: some people think the birds belong to that group.
Well Bishop Usher notwithstanding, we can’t pinpoint the first man down to the week and month. But we know men weren’t around 65 million years ago.
I appreciate the stretch of the birds though. That’s an amusingly good point. But the question was mankind and dinosaurs, not mankind and dinosaur’s evolutionary successors.
People shouldn’t take too seriously what they see on the Flintstones. Olbermann is a smug ass but it’s hard to defend Texas on this one. The numbers on the question are sadly embarrassing for the state.

Indeed, sharks, turtles, alligators, and bowfish are just a few examples of living “dinosaurs”...we still live amongst them.
But we don’t know that dinosaurs weren’t around a million years ago. I mean the crocodile has survived a long, long time. The next spade made turn up the remains of that non-T-rex dinosaur.
I would wager that a higher percentage of Obama voters can’t find Texas on a map, even the ones that live there.
AW, come on! Do you think that poll was set up, or anything?
So you believe the results of that poll?
Apparently Olbermann needs no reason other than that.
Olbermann aside, the idea that man and dinosaurs coexisted is shared by idiots and those who think that the Flintstones is a documentary.
>>>So you believe the results of that poll?
You got me there. Normally when I speak to controversial polls I note “if the polling is correct”, which this time I neglected to do.
However I would not be surprised if the poll is accurate. There have been other polls referenced on FR that show amazingly high numbers of people view the the image of people running from dinosaurs as reasonable.
LOL!
Hey gal, I bet you could whip overbite’s @$$.
KO is a doooooouchebag numnutz bag of smegma. KO...don’t f with Texas or we will kick your fat ass.
