Wow. Just as soon as the "Hot Air" blog was purchased by the Christian conglomerate Salem Communications from conservative commentator Michelle Malkin, it has suddenly become an advocate for all things gay. What in the world is up with that?
For background, GOPROUD is an organization dedicated to advancing special rights for homosexual behavior, and advocates the overthrow of the Defense of Marriage Act and the overthrow of the law banning homosexual service in the military.
Not only was GOPROUD welcomed at CPAC, an event which is supposed to be the annual showcase for conservative values, the organization was allowed to sponsor the event, giving visibility and recognition to its effort to legitimize sexual deviancy.

The irony is that I’ve been one of the first as a SECULAR person to say that I think homosexuality is not genetic but something that happens to form preferences early on. I also tend to think that many (though not most) homosexuals are ‘created’ by abuse or strange circumstances in their upbringing. But many things are formed in such a way—it doesn’t mean we discriminate or hate those people because they’re eccentric or even practice *GASP* anal sex.
I remember a thread not too long ago where ignorant people repeatedly tried to tell me that homosexual practices were a sign of the decadent decline of Hellenic, Roman and Tokugawa Japan-—instead of the FACT that these things happened from nearly the beginning, while these civilizations were on the ASCENT. So focused were some people on their bugaboo homosexuality that they couldn’t get past the fact that practices and beliefs varied over time. It’s not that I think we should BE like these civilizations, it’s just that only a fool would think Hellenic civilization or Rome’s decline had to do with homosexual practices, even as a symptom. No more than infanticide was (which IS immoral as there is a human victim.)
So does the sale of the site by Michelle Malkin mean that it only gets worse? Oh, my. How could it?
I oppose plans to teach little children in public school about anything technical about sex, though I would SUPPORT parents being able to tell their kids what they WANT to in private (in detail or not.)
But that really has nothing to do with this thread or my initial post. You’re the one who wants to focus on the kids and what they’re taught, mine is on the hysteria about homosexuals that was already in evidence and is MUCH moreso now that I’ve posted.

Here’s the problem: There is a fundamental divide between Goldwater-esque non-religious rightists like me and people who are far more focused on social conservatism and advancing their faith. I even sympathize with aspects of social conservatism but the answer is to assert positively and to destroy Education and State, to fight back against the radical anti-Americanism but embrace people who are NOT espousing that rhetoric.
Life is more complicated than the picture often presented here.

the rage and anger on Freep with these discussions just brings more vile language with the caveat “Well, THAT is what they do, so I have to be HONEST”.
And yes, there is only a focus on the MOST extreme, aggressive people who are gay and only men and the operative word is “gay” not vilolent, or predatory, or sexually acting out...( which would apply to heterosexuals also in some cases).
