Don’t start hatin’ on Shakira now, I’ve read that she’s got a real head on her shoulders and is involved with a lot of serious causes in her native Colombia. Practically a national hero.

I agree, Shakira’s great.
She is REALLY sexy and a really good singer to boot.
Besides being smart.
If she went to see Obama, it was for a legitimate reason.

Her dad was going bankrupt and she was upset so he took her to a park full of orphans sniffing glue ~ just to show her it could be a lot worse (so goes the official bio story).

She's got a soft heart, dances well, sings, composes, correographs, and is supposedly very smart in a business sense.

I use her as an avatar in many other boards!

Her politics are goofy but at least she can hold a large open air concert in Latin America without anyone shooting at her ~ and that is truly remarkable.

BTW, like many/most latinas of consequence she has RELATIVES IN LOS ANGELES!
