JD has the grassroots support...and he wins every straw poll and I think he has a great chance. McCain is LOATHED by the base here..just loathed. And the silver lining about this Scott Brown Debacle today is that now he does nothing for McCain. He brings no conservatives his way.

It's going to be an uphill climb, but clearly McCain is feeling the heat. machogirl heard him on local TV today and said McCain could barely contain his anger about this race... so JD is really getting under his skin because he went right for the juglar and McCain's vote for TARP -- and not even so much TARP, but that fact there was an additional $150 Billion in PORK attached to this bill.. and now McCain is trying to claim he was duped, but all that does is show him as dumb and dumber...

It is going to get bloody, but I noticed JD spoke eloquently about the facts Saturday evening...

That said, our local mayor was peeved he didn't address "local" issues aka the sewer issue (which IS a big deal locally, but would put JD in a corner when he is talking fiscal conservatism if he said "oh, yeah, I'll find you money in DC for your sewer project." so I understand why JD isn't going there. The Feds stuck us with this financial mess which is why it's such an issue)...

Anyway, JD is planning to do town halls around the state, I look forward to this taking place. He said he will bring two chairs since you don't know which Mccain will show up: the one who pretends to be conservative to get re-elected or the one who pushes AGW, McCain-Feingold,. Amnesty, once he is re-elected.

I will say up here in Mohave County McCain is very unpopular and I don't know a soul who will vote for him, one couple told me Saturday evening at the dinner that they have cast their last vote for McCain... and our local state senator is a supporter of JD...

JD said don't get upset about all the DC insiders endorsing McCain, that it is how things work and it to be expected, that he has Arpaio's endorsement and the room errupted in applause... Sheriff Joe may be hated in DC, but zonies like him.

IMHO this move by Scott Brown today plays into JD’s hands since McCain couldn’t wait to have Brown robo-call all over AZ the day after he won in MA... with JD really playing hard on the fact McCain isn’t the fiscal conservative he claims to be, I’m certain this will help... basically it was sort of a running joke with locals about getting their Scott Brown calls.

People seem very confident that JD will prevail. He must raise a lot of money to counter McCains lies on the radio though.
