By what twisted logic do you see the ‘joke’ as directed at her child? The only possible joke is obscure and directed at Palin—— illegitimate Down’s child with an accountant? I think the joke is on those that are getting their underwear in a bind. FG is adept at tasteless obvious satire and this is just too vague to not be intentionally so.
