WASHINGTON Is Scott Brown, the newly minted U.S. senator and Republican Party savior, backing Carly Fiorina for Senate?
The answer is no. But you might be forgiven for thinking he is after watching Fiorina's new Web ad featuring Brown's mug in one frame, then hers in the next, with the caption, "Thank You Massachusetts. Now on to California. Join the Path to Victory."
Weeks after Fiorina took the Web by storm with the "demon sheep" video castigating rival Tom Campbell for not being fiscally conservative enough, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO and first-time political candidate is again stirring controversy with a new Internet ad.
This time she's arguably suggesting an endorsement from one of the most sought-after figures in American politics a man who's gone, in a matter of weeks, from being an obscure state senator from Massachusetts to an oft-mentioned future candidate for president.
Fiorina aide Julie Soderlund said images are used all the time in political advertising that don't imply an endorsement, and the same is true with Fiorina's latest Web creation. She said the ad, which the campaign placed on a selection of political Web sites through Google advertising, is simply meant to convey that Fiorina wants to repeat Brown's feat in heavily Democratic Massachusetts.
"It asks the people of California to do the same thing," Soderlund said.
But the ad led one Southern California Republican blogger, Gregory Cole, whose site (http://flapsblog.com) hosted the ad, to speculate that Brown was at least raising money for Fiorina, if not giving her a formal endorsement. Brown has done neither. And for that reason Fiorina's competitors for the Republican nomination, former Silicon Valley congressman Campbell and state Assemblyman Chuck DeVore of Irvine, are crying foul.

What’s this love-fest with Scott Brown anyways? Sure, it was great to see him take a seat long held by Democrats, but this guy is NOT conservative. As a party, we should allow him to stay unchallenged 2016, but then he too needs to be challenged in the primaries by somebody much farther to the right than he is.
Or lack of values and character on the part of CarlyIt goes to values and character.
Boy, I’da thought you’da been beat like a pinata on Fidel’s birthday by now for the love-fest remark.. it’s early tho. ;-)
I am not sure what drives the media more into a frenzy,, free food and drinks or watching Obama bowl.
Scott is just one more example of the FRuits of the Grand Experiment We call home.. just another curveball from the electorate that leaves politicos breathless. Play ball.
No. But if it was about Sarah Palin, and lets just say that she came out and endorsed a complete left-of-RINO candidate over a true, small-government conservative and somebody called her out on it, then some pinata beatin' would have certainly happened!
LOL.. I can’t wait until the primaries are done,, and we have the actual candidates.. then the real fun begins..
Good. He just voted to move stimulous pork #2 through the Congress. Rinos supporting Rinos.
