Former state House Speaker Marco Rubio continues to lengthen his lead over Governor Charlie Crist in the contest for Floridas Republican Senate nomination.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely Republican Primary voters finds Rubio leading Crist by 18 points, 54% to 36%. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and seven percent are undecided.
Those figures reflect a five point increase in support for Rubio compared to a month ago. Support for Crist has changed little over the past month.
In December, the two GOP hopefuls were tied at 43% apiece. The new findings mark Rubios best showing to date and Crists worst. The good news for Crist is that Florida Republicans dont pick their nominee until an August 24 primary.

I’m not surprised. Rubio blew away the CPAC crowd during his opening keynote speech. I predict Crist will withdraw from the race before the primary rather than face inevitable defeat. He cannot turn these poll numbers around without going all-out negative on Rubio, and he is smart enought to know the voters don’t want to be exposed to such attacks. So what else can he do?

I wouldn't put it past him. The progressive republicarats are very afraid of losing their cushy jobs to the Tea Party candidates. If they lost to their fellow progressive dems they could always get jobs as lobbyists or talking heads. But if the Tea Party takes over they will be unemployable. They will do anything, including destroying the entire nation, to guarantee their current ability so skim off the peoples taxes.

Rubio is now officially running away with it.
It's time for twinkle-toes Crist to just go away.

How you feelin’ now, Senator Cornyn?? We’ll have Senators Rubio, Toomey, and hopefully Devore despite your meddling!
The senate should not be choosing its own members. It’s a check on the senate that it just has to deal with who the states send there.

Poor McCollum, he’ll probably have to take on Crist in the gubernatorial primary. No way that Crist stays in the Senate race much longer.

What a speech Rubio gave at CPAC! He wins this going away. Crist should drop out and run against Nelson.

According to Bill Bennett (and Mark Levin), the GOP does not owe an apology because of 4 good congressmen that are currently serving. Ok, let's play the individual game; Cornyn owes a BIG APOLOGY and needs to step down at the NRSC.

I hope Bennett does lose. He’s worthless. And Hatch next. He’s been there too long and became buddy buddy with Kennedy. Stupid Dream Act!

I am still looking for a Florida freeper to discuss new in-state tax changes that will change what every one of us pay in property taxes in November. The legislator bringing this to the floor has been lying to me in emails and he is one of those RINOs.

I have heard (and I don't know for a fact) that Rubio is pro-amnesty for illegals.
What is the truth about that question?

He is against amnesty. He also does not want illegals counted in the census.

I just heard him on WIOD saying that he is foremost the Governor of Florida, and is NOT paying too much attention to the U.S. Senate race, but that he is very much concern about the unemployment situation in our state!!!
Maybe better he just concentrate on being the Governor instead of "running"???
