If someone had means - couldn’t they run an ad in Hawaii offering a small reward to see an original yearbook?

I was thinking about how odd his hand looks over O’s shoulder. I don’t know anything about photo analysis, just what strikes me as odd.

You can also see the boy to zero’s left (on our right) is wearing a different “uniform” jersey than the rest of the team. The piping around the edges is a thicker single line instead of two lines. Also, the school name appears to run straight across the chest as opposed to being arched. The school name is also a varsity style typeface instead of a block as the rest of the team evidences.

I saw the same thing. That dude looks photoshopped in compared to the other members on the team. Not only is his uniform different, his socks are. He's wearing "knee-high", while you can tell that obama and the guy to his right (left in the pic) aren't wearing knee-high socks. The odds that this guy would be wearing not only a different style jersey AND different socks doesn't seem too high to me.

A few observations.

The guy sitting to the left of Obama (blond). The letters on his tank-top don't arc, but are written straight across (unlike the others). The letters themselves have a serif font, rather than the sans-serif seen on the other tanks. And the letters PUNAHOU aren't the letters on his tank. Look at the letter right in the center of his tank. It's certainly not the pointy A that is seen on the other tanks.

Obama's sock is bright white, unlike the guy to the left of him.

The guy in the lower right corner, his arm bulges out in a weird way.

Other discrepancies have already been noted.

Oops, I see that you already posted some of what I just posted. I hadn’t read your comments before I posted mine.

Re: "The bend in the left wrist is creepy/weird."

He's refined it since Punahou:

Did you know that Obama is not in the Columbia yearbook?

Yes, I've heard that. I am not in my own college yearbook even though I graduated. The reason? I thought the price they wanted was outrageous.

It’s a somewhat awkward hand position, but that may go more toward the man’s state of mind or personal comfort level than anything else.

I’m not in my college yearbook either and for the same reason you listed. What a scam.

I have looked all over and there is no mention anywhere of where this 4", hockey-stick shaped scar came from.

Maybe he had his conscience surgically removed?

He also has a crease in his earlobe.

The National Institute of Health conducted a study on the value of the ear-crease sign in predicting the presence of coronary artery disease. The study consisted of 340 consecutive patients who underwent coronary arteriography. In this selected population, 75.6% of whom had coronary artery disease, the sensitivity of the sign was 59.5%, the specificity 81.9% and the positive predictive value 91.1%.

The sign was associated with increasing age but was also independently associated with obstructive coronary artery disease. No significant correlation was found between the sign and the presence of risk factors or other signs of such disease, except for corneal arcus. In symptomatic patients the sign suggested the presence of more extensive coronary artery disease. In an asymptomatic population with a low prevalence of coronary artery disease it appears to be of limited value in predicting obstructive coronary artery disease. However, it may identify a subset of patients prone to early ageing and to the early development of coronary artery disease, whose prognosis might be improved by early preventive measures.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is an important health concern for African Americans, who are diagnosed with CAD at high rates.

The scar itself is interesting.

In "Dreams..," there are two references to scars. One applies to Obama, and that resulted from a large cut on his arm he received as a child in Indonesia (page 49).

Obama also tells of a wound he received on his head (page 36), also in Indonesia, when struck by a rock, thrown by another child. In the book, Lolo Soetoro describes the wound -- "it's not bleeding."

There's no mention of Obama's wound in the single-page "doctor's note" he released during the campaign (by comparison, John McCain released 1,173 pages of his medical records to the press).

So where did that nasty "hockey stick-shaped" scar on Obama's head come from? -- an accident? -- a mugging? -- an operation? You know he remembers.

grandpa’s shoulder is in the wrong position to have his hand draped on Owhoevers’s shoulder, or else grampa had a extra long double jointed arm.

Odd

The first picture you posted shows obama wearing his watch on his left hand. In the basketball team photo, there is a tan line, not only on his shoulder, but there also appears to be one on his wrist where he wore his watch. Except now it’s on his right hand. Would people switch which hand they wear a watch on as they get older?

That must be Chandoo’s band — Obama has worn it since Occidental, 12 years before his marriage.

Check any photo.
