It seems secular Jews are rather Bolshie and ones who follow the religion a bit more closely aren’t. At least that’s what it’s like in the Free State. And I taught at a Judaic pre-school.
Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League.
Foxman's support for gay rights in America placed him at odds with many Orthodox Jews. Concerning the former, which involved his protest in 20002001 of a case (Boy Scouts of America v. Dale) in which "the Supreme Court ruled that the Boy Scouts of America could exclude a gay scoutmaster because of his sexual orientation"
"We are stunned that in the year 2000 the Supreme Court could issue such a decision.... This decision effectively states that as long as an organization avows an anti-homosexual position, it is free to discriminate against gay and lesbian Americans."
Abe Foxman has received criticism from Jewish and non-Jewish quarters for his antagonist approach to the 2004 film The Passion of the Christ and its director Mel Gibson.
As a self-appointed Jewish defense organization, the Anti-Defamation League has a problem: Anti-Semitism is declining. Abraham Foxman's solution is to pretend it isn't.
ADL's Abraham Foxman applauds Obama's intentions
ADL blasts Limbaugh's comments about Jewish people on Wall Street ...in which he raised the possibility that liberal Jews were having "buyer's remorse" with President Obama in light of the outcome of the Senate election in Massachusetts.
I'm very well aware of the other situations you mention. It's not that I listen to him because I respect him. I posted this article to satirize his foolishness and his lack of contact with reality. His general pattern is to pick needless fights with people and groups on the right who are not antisemitic at all (like Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party movement), while being less than aggressive against antisemitism on the left.
Foxman is more than an idiot. TROP finds him tpo be a useful infidel..
I went to a tea party deal.
Kippah, beard, was very welcome by all but some Ron Paul supporters.
This is just silly.
What else would you expect from the Jewish leftists quoted in the article and their cheerleader, Jewish Week writer James Besser?
Foxman should go by the old adage that “it is better to be silent, and thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt”..
