When I train NRA Instructors,
the first time I handle a firearm,
I point it in a safe direction and
demonstrate the the empty
chamber to a student instructor.I then discuss the process with the
student instructors to follow this
process in their classes.

I’ve trained a number of folks in various and sundry matters. Sometimes, in spite of the training and their understanding of same, they step on their ropes. Disciplinary action is dependant on the severity of the screwup. Assumptions of career choices are irrelevant.
