My mother was a teacher in the NYC public schools for 50 years. Next? Also, btw, the charter schools in NH are barred from expelling anyone short of persistent violence, same as the regular schools. It is a BIG problem with most schools nowadays. A kid punches another kid and they get a 1 week suspension (sometimes "on campus" which is ridiculous). And if it persists, they move the VICTIM to another class!
I just dealt with that issue last week. I was the one that got hit; the kid that started the mess only got 5 days. It was a nasty attack; the kid should be in prison for it. The girl that hit me wouldnt have gotten in trouble if she hadnt taken a deliberate swing at me the girl that started the fight was already gone. She got three days as I did not press charges.
Chops to your mom 50 years wow. When did she start teaching at 20?
A bit older. She is nearly 80 now and volunteers in the schools.
Sorry for the hack comment. I got carried away after I saw your charter comments. Clearly they work better in some places than others if checks are in place.
No prob. we are all on the same side. Only the libs have the thin skin. Thats and much respect to your mom.
