Agreed, though I think repealing of the 17th Amendment should be explored.
As for the recall provision for other that gross misconduct, I think general recalls, votes of no confidence would just open a can of worms, 24/7/365 litigation.
The elections should be the remedies for that, after all, that's why we have them.
Since no one has said it, I will add some information. The CPAC straw poll means only that Paul and Romney brought their supporters with them for the sole purpose of voting the straw polls. They are mostly young people and they have to go to the candidate’s booth to vote. A lot of the older people, who know that the straw poll means nothing, will just sit it out. It’s a travesty that they even hold such a poll at CPAC.
