Bloomberg’s IT company created dozens of billionaires and several thousand millionaires living in NYC all to different degrees indebted to Bloomberg’s revolutionary terminal trading and data services.

I don’t think EBay will bring about the same level of gravitas in the CA community for Whitman.

I am not even backing or not backing Meg Whitman. I was just responding to this question from the author of the article “How can a candidate who never has run for office, and ducked every debate to date, dare to try to elbow out of the primary the one candidate who has won statewide office?”.

Merely pointing out that it's been done before. Very rich candidates will always spend a lot of money on their campaigns, and of course do whatever they can to debate as little as they can get away with. It's not exactly new. If Romeny were as rich as Bloomberg(worth $17 Billion), he'd never have dropped out of the 2008 race.
